Local culture

Venabu lies between two valleys rich in culture, Gudbrandsdalen & Østerdalen. We arrange trips to see plays of both Peer Gynt & Kristin Lavrandsdatter, an we arrange cultural occasions for groups who wish to stay with us. Gudbrandsdalen has a rich folk music tradition, and at Vinstra college there’s good musical courses. We use many of the local talents when we have entertainment at the hotel. Ringebu Stave Church holds summer concerts of a high calibre and there are plenty of cultural activities in both valleys as well as in the town of Lillehammer. Every Sunday we arrange a guided trip around the Stave Church. On our Links Page you will find links to some local cultural events.
