Venabu Fjellhotell is
situated on the mountain plateau Venabygdsfjellet between
Gudbrandsdalen and Østerdalen,60 km north of
Lillehammer, just south of Rondane National Park.
Winter
The Venabu Mountain Area is famous for its guaranteed snow
and varied terrain. We have a network of 140 km of marked
and prepared trails.
Weekly
programme
In
the winter season
our 2 tour leaders will take you out on a new
tour every day. Snowshoeing once a week.
In March and April we arrange
a
Ski Safari, where we feature
day long guided skitours into the the mountains far from the
regular trails searching for peace and quiet.
One of our tour leaders is a menber of the UIMLA ( Union of
Internationla Mountain Leader Association)
Troll-Loipe
Venabu Fjellhotell is a destination on the
Troll-Lopie which runs from Høvringen to Lillehammer.

Summer programme
From mid June to the end of August we have a weekly
programme with guided tours in the mountains. You can
walk to
one of the peaks in Rondane, visit canyons and
waterfalls, find the tracks of wild reindeer, just to mention
some of the organised walks.
If you prefer to walk on your own there is a
large network of marked hiking trails.
"Venabustallen” is situated just 100m from
Venabu Fjellhotell. We have 15-22 horses throughout the
summer, these horses are placid and stable, very suitable
for all levels of rideing ability
We arrange a broad range of activities for
beginners and experienced riders, everything from an hour to
a week of riding.
Venabu Fjellhotell is run by the
Tvete family who have welcomed visitors to the mountains for 60
years. The hotel is well known for good quality home made
food and a variety of vegetarian dishes. Every
Wednesday we serve our Norwegian Buffet wihich hosts a selection of
traditional Norwegain food.
