One week with guided walks in Rondane and Ringebu mountains

Starting: 23rd June, 21st July, 18th August and 8th September

Price NOK 8900,- per person, no single room supplement. Includes 7 nights and all meals and 5 guided walks (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

During the week the tour leader will take you to areas where the wild reindeer still roam around, and we look at the old hunting traps.  You will learn about the local geology, the animals and the local culture.  The tours are easy and are meant for people in good shape being able to walk on paths and in easy terrain away from the paths, and they are between 12 and 20kms.  There is no demanding peaks to climb, and we use the time to enjoy nature.  The walks are in different terrain every day, and away from the main paths.  You will discover more unknown places, and respect for nature and good friendship are import ingredients.

Thursday is at your disposal for walking on your own or making a visit to Lillehammer, a day's excursion to Geiranger and the Geirangerfjord, riding or climbing one of the peaks in Rondane.  You can also visit the 800 year old stave church in Ringebu as well as the restored vicarage garden with different exhibitions in the old houses, and walk a little distance on the old pildgrim's road and visit the local village Ringebu with nice small shops and good places for a cup of coffee.

New 2013

Hikes on your own in the Venabygd and Rondane mountains

Start 30th June, 7th July, 14th July and 21st July.

NOK 7000,- per person for 7 nights including meals.

The participants receives a programme with maps and description of the hikes on marked trails in Rondane and the Venabygd mountains.  The hotel arranges transfers to the starting points.  Arrivals on Sundays for dinner in the evening, and information about the week's programme.  Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays the walks are in the southern parts of Rondane on marked paths. Wednesday evening a very special meal at the hotel with traditional food and you are told about the old traditions. 

Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday you walk on your own in the central part of Rondane and staying overnight in the cabins of the Norwegian Tourist Association (DNT) Rondvassbu and Bjørnhollia.  Twin or single rooms with shower/toilet at Venabu, and in rooms with several people at the cabins.  No shower/toilet in the rooms at the cabins.

2 days guided walking and 3 nights at Venabu

Every Tuesday and Wednesday from June 10th to August 15th 2013

NOK 3950,- per person for 3 nights halfboard and packed lunch/filling of thermos flask and two guided walks.  Arrival Monday evening and leaving after breakfast on Thursday morning.

After the dinner buffet, you get a presentation of the walking programme and information about the area.  The walks will go in interesting areas in Rondane, Sollia and Venabygd mountains.  You will be out all day from 09.00 till about 5pm.  The walks are easy, between 12 and 15kms, and we use plenty of time.  The participants must be able to walk in easy terrain outside the paths as well as on mountain paths.  The guides have good knowledge about the area, and will take you to place most people don't visit on their own.  On Wednesday evening you will have a very special meal with traditional food, and we tell about the dishes served.  After the meal, the hostess shows close up pictures of flowers and tell about the local flora.

6 nights Sunday-Saturday NOK 8950,- per person in twin room west wing.  Supplement NOK 420,- for a small single room or NOK 1260,- for a bigger single room.  The price includes 6 nights and all meals, five guided walks, concert in Sør-Fron church Tuesday evening, Norwegian traditional meal Wednesday evening and the Peer Gynt performance on Thursday evening.

7 night with arrival Saturday NOK 10610,- per person in twin room with programme as above + the Rondane concert on Sunday 4th.  Supplement small single room NOK 490,- and a bigger single room NOK 1470,-.

This is the tour of the year to get close to Norwegian nature and culture.  The walks will be chosen according to weather conditions to give you the best experiences.

Elk/moose safari
These safaris are normally on Tuesday evenings in June and July.  We go by minibus to places we are pretty sure to see these magnificent animals.  Start approx 8pm and back before midnight.
Supplement NOK 350,-.  Sign up in the reception.
 
 
We have transfer from Oslo Airport Gardermoen at 2pm every Saturday in the season.
