CHRISTMAS IN THE MOUNTAINS 2009

Welcome to Christmas celebration at Venabu! We celebrate as a traditional large family would once have done, with Christmas dinner, singing around the Christmas tree and a visit from Father Christmas. We welcome singles, families & couples from around the world. We fill our days and evenings with a variety of activities: Horse sleigh rides, Christmas service in the Stave Church, New year concert, traditional food & folk music. Live dance music in the evenings or quiet reading in front of the open fire. Some evenings we show our slides from the mountains or the close ups of mountain flowers. Or maybe a ski trip or a walk in the winter landscape. Join in the group activities or enjoy your own corner alone.

Some days we have a guided ski tour before lunch and horse and sleigh ride in the afternoon.  Horse and sleigh must be ordered at least some days in advance, and costs NOK 250,- per person for 20 minutes' ride.  Same price for children.  Our guides will teach you how to ski and take you out for tours - sign up in the reception (supplement).  Dogsleigh one day will also be on option, NOK 300,- per person, half hour. Children under 12 years NOK 200,-.  Has to be ordered in advance and minimum 8 persons.  We also have two guides available for those who want ski tuition or guided ski tours - supplement.
