Essential information for ski hire
When you book ski hire please tell us:
- your height
- weight
- shoe size
- type of ski that you’d like
so that we give you the right equipment.
This makes a big difference to the way your skis perform and consequently to your enjoyment of your sking, so please supply this complete information at the time of booking your ski rental.
Book ahead
Please order before you arrive so we have time to prepare your skis for you.
We may not be able to guarantee your first choice of equipment for drop-in rentals.
Drop-in rental incurs an additional fee of 50,- per set of skis.

We have cross-country skis, poles and boots, snow shoes and pulk (sledges) for hire.
Many of our rental skis are backcountry or BC cross country skis. These are wider and more stable than a track ski and have metal edges. They do fit into the pressed tracks.
We also have classic track skis with NNN bindings available to rent. We have waxing classic skis and now some new classic skis with ‘twin skins’. Please specifiy which type of track ski you would prefer when you enquire and we will do our best to fulfill your request.
Our skistall staff are available each morning to offer ski servicing and expert advice.
We also sell ski wax and cross country ski accessories.

It is possible to rent poles, boots and skis separately, for three days hire of more it is better to choose the full package.
* The full package comprises skis, poles and boots, and includes grip wax each day.

Snowshoe hire
We have snowshoes to fit boot sizes 37 and above.
Children’s snowhoes: we have snowshoes that fit boot sizes 28-36.
Price:
Snowshoe hire 200 NOK per day / 800 NOK per week.
Pulk for young children
We have pulk available for young children. Please email us [email protected]
We advise all guests renting to pulk ensure they follow the rules for using sleds with children.
Some ski hire FAQ:
Can I bring my own cross-country ski boots?
You are very welcome to bring your own boots. Please check which bindings will fit your boots and tell us when you request ski hire.
Our track skis have Rotafella classic NNN bindings. Our metal-edged skis have wider BC bindings.
What are the best boots to wear for snowshoeing?
If you would like to bring your own boots for snowshoeing – a good option if you will be doing more than one day of snowshoeing, then warm, waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support are best. The ankle support is important and for this reason light trekking shoes are not suitable. Fabric summer hiking boots may not be up the the job of keeping you warm. Gaiters can be a good idea if you have them and are a personal choice.
If you are joining us for the snowshoe day as part of the guiding programme then you are welcome to wear your rental BC ski boots which do the job well for that snowshoe tour.
