Winter 2024/25

Welcome to Venabu’s lunch buffet.

We serve a daily lunch buffet between 13.30 and 15h during the main holiday seasons. Take a break and join us for lunch in our relaxed restaurant. You’ll find delicious food and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

On the buffet, every day, there is a selection of salads, cold meat and fish, a soup, a hot main dish, a vegetarian dish and a hot fish dish. There are plenty of accompanying vegetables. Following the starters and main course, there is a dessert buffet with a choice of three sweet treats. On the side, there is a cheese board, bread and fruit. A selection of teas and coffee will round off your meal. At the weekend, the choice is even more extensive.

We also serve the traditional Norwegian sour cream porridge with cured meats, red berry juice and local flatbread – not to be missed!

For large groups please call ahead.

We offer our bar meals outside our main mealtimes, every day from 11.00-17.00h.

Soups and starters

We serve a soup and a selection of salads, cured meat and marinaded fish every day.

All our soups are homemade and include: broccoli soup, pumpkin, cream of mushroom, tomato soup and mixed vegetable soup. There is always plenty of bread available too.

The soups are vegetarian and gluten-free bread and crackers are also set out.

Hot main dishes

We serve at least one hot meat dish, a hot fish dish and a hot vegetarian dish every day.

Examples of the hot dish of the day, for each category:

Mooseburger patties from Anni’s Delicatessen, homemade lasagne, moose steak, venison.

Oven-baked trout with sour cream sauce, oven-baked halibut, homemade fish gratin.

Homemade lentil casserole, homemade vegetable lasagne, homemade falafels.

All served with accompanying vegetables.

Traditional Norwegian dishes

Warm sour cream porridge is served with warm raisins, melted butter, sugar and cinnamon. This is traditionally eaten with cured meats and flatbread. A berry juice drink is taken alongside.

Tempting desserts

We serve three desserts every day from a selection including: homemade chocolate mousse, homemade “brunost” cheesecake, Snickers cake, fruit salad, chia pudding.

There is also a cheese board with homemade jam and cheese biscuits. Gluten-free bread and biscuits are available.
