Welcome to our women’s yoga and meditation weekend!

Whether you are a solo traveller or joining us with friends, enjoy a relaxing yoga weekend in the mountains at Venabu. This weekend will suit guests new to yoga and those early in their yoga practice.

Yoga is a gentle form that aims to harmonise physical, emotional and mental elements in the body. You will have the opportunity to discover different styles of yoga during the weekend. Each of these styles can help you to slow down and unwind. To ensure that everyone benefits from each class, our yoga instructor Ania, is attentive to everyone’s needs and adapts her teaching accordingly.

Venabu is the perfect location for a mountain yoga weekend. The hotel sits on the Venabygdsfjellet plateau, encircled by rolling, accessible summits. You’ll find that the nature surrounding the hotel is peaceful and beautiful. This can support our practice and so we will spend time together outside for some of the classes: by the lake and in the forest. In addition, there are also plenty of easy footpaths for you to explore.

You will be well looked after: the hotel is comfortable and the food is delicious. We are happy to cater for a variety of diets, vegetarians and vegans are welcome! Please let us know in advance if you have particular dietary requirements. Venabu is accessible from Oslo, making a weekend visit easy, for more information visit our travel page.

More about yoga

Yoga has its roots in ancient Indian philosophy, over 5000 years ago. Yoga practice is said to take care of the body, mind and soul. Since its origins yoga has developed many different strands and styles. These use a variety of poses, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation practices. The different styles of yoga may use these in different combinations.

How can yoga benefit you?

– Reduce stress
– Improve strength, flexibility and posture
– Increase energy
– Improve concentration
– Help you to focus and be in the present moment

Ania says:

“Yoga means different things to each practitioner. An important, fundamental theme for me is to help each person to discover what yoga is for them. Yoga can be so many things, and only the individual can decide what it is for them.”
